Budalangi: Man Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing Wife to Death

A 38-year-old man is in police custody after allegedly killing his wife in a domestic dispute in Njiru, Budalangi, on Tuesday night.

Police identified the suspect as Ibrahim Akongo Okanga, who is accused of fatally stabbing his wife, Eunice Wanjiku, with a kitchen knife during an altercation at their home. The incident occurred at around 8 p.m., leaving Wanjiku with fatal injuries.

Njiru Sub-County Police Commander John Owuoth, who visited the scene, confirmed the attack.

“The suspect stabbed the wife twice with a kitchen knife. He has since been arrested and is in custody as investigations continue,” Owuoth stated.

Shock in the Community

Residents described the couple as well-known in the area, with the tragic turn of events leaving the community in disbelief.

The case has once again highlighted growing concerns over domestic violence, which continues to claim lives in households across the country.
