Grammy Award-winning artist Chris Brown, 36, has been denied bail by a Manchester Magistrates’ Court and will remain in custody until June 13, 2025, after being charged with grievous bodily harm.

Brown is accused of launching an unprovoked assault in February 2023 on music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in London’s Mayfair district. Prosecutors claim Brown struck Diaw with a bottle, then chased, punched, and kicked him — an attack caught on CCTV.
Judge Joanne Hirst denied bail, citing the seriousness of the allegations, as highlighted by prosecutor Hannah Nicholls.

This court date clashes with Brown’s Frankfurt concert on June 13 — part of his world tour that begins in Amsterdam on June 8, with performances scheduled in North America, including Toronto on August 19–20.
Brown, known for hits like Run It and Kiss Kiss, has won two Grammys, most recently for 11:11 (Deluxe) earlier this year.
