Kindiki Assures Kenyans of Free, Fair, and Peaceful 2027 Elections

Busia County, May 18, 2025 – Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans that the upcoming 2027 General Elections will be free, fair, and peaceful, dismissing claims by his predecessor Rigathi Gachagua of possible post-election violence.

Speaking in Teso North, Busia County, Kindiki urged citizens to ignore “doomsayers” forecasting violence, accusing them of political immaturity and lack of patriotism.

“Their prophecy of doom is informed by unpatriotism and political inexperience,” Kindiki said, referring to Gachagua’s warning of potential unrest if the elections are manipulated.

🗳️ Gachagua’s Grim Prediction

In a recent Obinna TV interview, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had warned of mass violence if the 2027 polls were rigged, comparing it to or worse than the 2007 post-election chaos that left over 1,000 people dead.

Gachagua also publicly declared his intention to run for president in 2027, challenging President William Ruto for the Kenya Kwanza flagbearer position.

⚖️ No More “Perpetual Campaigns”

DP Kindiki criticized continuous politicking, saying it distracts from service delivery:

“Even the Bible says there is a season for everything. This is the season for the government to deliver,” he said.

He emphasized the government’s priority remains on reducing the cost of living, creating employment, and stabilizing the economy.

“The Ksh is strong and currently, we are outperforming Ethiopia and Angola,” Kindiki added.

Key Takeaways:

  • Kindiki reassures peaceful 2027 elections.
