A suspected land fraudster linked to a defunct self-help group turned criminal gang has been charged with malicious damage of property worth Ksh 1 million in Obama Estate, Kangundo Road.
The accused, Fredrick Odhiambo, also known as Agunyo, appeared at Makadara Law Courts following approval by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to prosecute him for a crime committed earlier this year.
Odhiambo, who is already out on bond for a similar offense, was arrested after allegedly orchestrating the destruction of property belonging to an elderly businesswoman.
Investigators have established that the gang he leads has been intimidating residents, grabbing land, and selling it off fraudulently to unsuspecting third parties.
This development comes amid increased efforts by Land Fraud Investigators to crack down on land cartels who manipulate ownership documents in collusion with rogue Ministry of Lands officials.
